Another Day Has Descended Upon Us

My journey was long

From earth’s end

Through raging fires and horrid winds

Through endless seas and darkened skies

But I came forth

Out from the capturing forests

Out from the suicidal cliffs

Out from the swallowing deserts

I came forth

Because I heard your call

Your voice of reason

Your soft whisper

Your echoed song

Time is beginning to stand still

World’s rotation is coming to a stop

Everything is shifting, twisting and turning

But now that you are here

Everything makes sense

Everything matches

Everything is synching

This day is here

And this day shall not be forgotten

Ambassador of Brothers

Joining two across

            an ocean’s expanse

Bringing together lost

            brothers of Germany

Folded hands

            reflecting true

Bushy eyebrows

            defending loving eyes

Silver mop

            upon creative helmet

Torn apart

            needing to die

Terrible ways

            no more reasons

Feeding hope

            tasting awful

Can’t hear and can’t see

            Can’t walk and can’t bleed

Never minding

            always wishing

Large noses smelling

            medication ticking

Lasting love of wife

            counting years gone

Taught to see

            see the seam’s joining line

I am the ambassador

            I come before thee

Bring messages of hope

            And brotherly love

Farewells and greetings

            Till death do us part

Aley Steak

Dozens of cows lined the street

One by one they are selected for slaughter

Sitting down at the dining table

I have my knife

I have my fork

I cut - I eat your steak.

At The Albrechtshof

Move in over river Spree

Spread like smooth butter

Memories of paintings glow

Upon steps of heritage

I take you hand in hand

A waltz on a train

I don’t even know your name

Approaching The End

When everything caves

When everything is lost

When you feel like you have nothing

When you walk that edge

When you contemplate that line

When you are about to cross

When you are ready to hang everything up

When you are going to give up

Remember you have me,

And I’m here for you; forever

I’ll do anything for you

Because I love you

Apologies

These are my apologies,

To the men, women, and children I’ve hurt.

Please gather around closer,

And listen to my apology.

Deep within.

I have a brave heart

But my love for you is overbearing.

This is something I cannot continue with.

I instruct you to not bury my body.

Please donate it to medical studies.

Let students learn and discover.

I have two hearts.

Torn.

They no longer beat in synch.

No longer display rhythm.

This is my last poem.

American Nation

Time for a forward movement,

Create a constant revolution.

End the second’s reign,

And innocent’s persecution!

I cut off my tongue,

If that’s what it takes.

It’s worth one more life,

Corruption like snakes!

I repeat my bedtime chant,

Numb teeth forgotten.

Parks sat in front,

Seale ain’t pickin’ cotton.

Bomb ticking before nine,

Give him peaches without blow.

Let him meet Dr. Joseph-Ignace’s fist,

United we will grow!

I chant, I pray,

Let Tatanka Iyotake come back.

Get my people,

I pledge it’s time for an attack!

Gather your battle arms,

Sound your fury.

Bring down the regime,

The citizens are the jury!

Autumn Is Gone

Stop feeding me

This sugar solution

Stop at the 12th floor window

My hands are on the door

But you don’t let me freshen up

I watch you pull the sheets over your body

I see you do the Thorazine shuffle

But you —

         you are still silent

Because if you were to speak

A loud roar

And you’d wake up from your wet dream

Thinking it was Autumn

And there she was

My angel stood before me

My angel I love

Another Woman, Another Man

There will be a day

When you love another man

There will be a day

When I love another woman

There will be a day

When you have sex with another man

There will be a day

When I have sex with another woman

There will be a day for kisses

There will be a day for embraces

Those will be the days

Of new

That day was yesterday.

Argue With The Donkey!

Don’t make excuses

Don’t tell lies

Just argue with the donkey!

Don’t put up

Don’t put out

Just argue with the donkey!

You may walk away

You may even compare

But,

You’ll have to argue with the donkey!

You may come back for more

You may even bleed or plead

But

You’ll have to argue with the donkey!

No arguing with me

Take it up with management

Just argue with the donkey!

Anything

This poem was about to have no title.

As I write this, I don’t know what I’ll write.

I contemplate its format. Do I use proper punctuation?

I usually don’t. But perhaps today is different.

After all, anything can happen.

Just like -

Earlier today,

I stepped in a pile of shit.

You know what they say?

Later on,

A pigeon shit on my shoulder

It doesn’t matter what I say in this poem.

Or any poem. Because there is always a bottom line.

A usual theme.

You know what it is.

He knows, she knows, you all know.

That I love her.

But, according to recent realizations by a select few,

it has been determined that I, the author of this poem,

or is it a poem?, hasn’t met her yet.

But that doesn’t matter. Because I wrote this.

Anything can happen.

And it doesn’t matter.

Because no matter what anything is happening,

I still love you.

Ability

I have lost my ability

To reason & think

I cannot calculate my calculations

I have lost my ability

To cook & clean

I cannot even tie my shoe laces

I have lost my ability

To brush my teeth & comb my hair

I cannot even rinse with mouth wash

Because

I admit

I am consumed

With thoughts of you

August Wind

I walk the streets

The warm breeze runs through my hair

Like your fingers

The lights are dim on the skyscrapers

People walk in chaotic serpentine paths

Avoiding pockets of heat

Water drips from the sky

As air conditioners empty out

Upon the sidewalk below

Circling towards my home

Contemplating, reflecting, thinking.

A smile widens my horizon

Her blue eyes are on my mind

The soft skin I yearn for

It’s the August Wind that brings her to me.

Agnes, From Poland

She was an angel from heaven.

God sent her down to this earth.

She made beautiful paintings.

Blind from birth with amazing green eyes.

Eyes I could stare into and get lost in.

Forever in Poland she stayed.

Forever in my heart she became.

Agnes, I’ll miss you.

Your green eyes adore you.

Let my blue eyes see you once more.

Let me love you from now on.

Agnes, I’ll miss you.

I’ve blinked so many times.

But you have not left.

The porcelain is clean.

The canvas is stretched.

The paint is applied.

Your green eyes can no longer hide.
