Distance

Became so distant

Disconnected and removed

Passion gracefully became inconsistent

Everyone forgot our names

Everything failed around us

Everybody played tricks and games

Grown so far apart

Forgotten how to speak the same language

Battle for the empty heart

Once the best of lovers

Behind locked doors

Hiding under the covers

Amorous letter burns

Speechless and wordless

Without ideas or concerns

Separating close connection

With no gratification or satisfaction

Wallowing in self-inflicted infection

No first dance or wedding bell

Standing out in the wet and cold

Not even a cordial farewell

A different agenda on your plate

On our desks and in our files

Nothing left to debate

Sinking in the sea of despair

Giving birth to misconceptions

Avoid sitting in the judge's chair

Following the what if

And what could have been

Leaping headfirst off the inescapable cliff

Reading the story in tomorrow’s news

With death comes sympathy

In the direction we now choose
